I’ve started my academic career at Sciences Po Paris as an undergratuate in 1997, and got my PhD in 2010 through a joint degree program between Sciences Po and Northwestern University. I was lucky enough to be supervised by Didier Bigo and Michael Hanchard.

As I was finishing my PhD, I worked as a post-doc as SOAS, with Fiona Adamson, and in 2010 I moved to Leiden as an assistant professor and have been there since.

From 2016 to 2018, curious to learn new skills and to formalize my experimental practice as a documentary filmmaker, I enrolled in the Netherlands Film Academy Masters program in Film. I have been directing documentary and essay films since 2010. My current ERC Research Grant relies heavily on filmmaking and other forms of practice-based research.
